Overview
What’s Light Got to Do with It? The Academic Adventures of a LASERchick
Light and the technologies that harness it play a crucial role in nearly every facet of our daily lives, yet their significance is often underestimated. In this talk, I will explore the profound impact of light-based technologies on both everyday life and scientific research, as well as our perception of it and how that connects to our interactions with each other. This hands-on, interactive presentation will delve into various light-based technologies, and help you to better understand their applications in your own life. Attendees will gain insight into how these technologies helped to shape a significant part of my academic journey, from a researcher to an educator and science communicator. Join me for an illuminating exploration of light’s role in science and technology, and discover how understanding these principles can inspire and shape a career in the field.
