“ENGINEERING CHALCOGENIDES AND TOPOLOGICAL SEMIMETALS FOR ENERGY- EFFICIENT MEMORY AND INTERCONNECTS ”

Today’s nanoelectronics systems are reaching the limits of energy and latency for numerous data-intensive Internet of Things devices and artificial intelligence applications. Improving the energy efficiency of computing, data storage, and their interconnections remains at the core of tackling this grand challenge. This calls for the adoption of new materials and bridging the advances in their transport physics, electronic devices, and systems to enable breakthroughs in low-power memory and nanoscale interconnects. In this seminar, I will present atomic-scale engineering and electro-thermal transport of new electronic materials to open new functionalities in nanoscale devices as a platform for energy-efficient nanoelectronics.

Note: Students are invited (and encouraged) to enjoy a pizza lunch with the speaker. Lunch is between noon and 1:30 in TH123.
